Shimoda visited Belize several times. The first was on our way to Guatemala. Once in Guatemala, I made a couple trips up to Belize with Capt. Mike. I later departed for the Panama Canal from Belize with Jim France, Piers, from England and Morton from Norway.

The pictures are from a trip to the Sapodillia Islands at the southern end of Belize. Capt. Mike's friend named Palma lived in a small shack on a speck of an island. Palma lived on coconuts, conch and fish. We stopped by for a dinner of conch sevichi, roast fish and rum. I don't remember much about the fish but the conch and rum were great!

Belize was also the place where Capt. Mike and I met a retired Norwegian Merchant Marine Captain who recognized Shimoda as a Chris White design from miles away but didn't have any idea who Jimmy Buffet was when he met him.
